This is basically my worst nightmare… but I have to admit, it’s pretty damn cool. This is the ICEHOTEL in Jukkasjärvi, a village north of the Arctic Circle in Sweden. It is made completely out of ice and snow. When you sleep, you are sleeping in a thermal sleeping bed on deer skin, ice, and you got it… snow. On the website, ICEHOTEL is described as more than just a place to visit, but an “ephemeral art project”. The design for the hotel was developed with the input of students from Stockholm’s Royal Institute of Technology.
So how much does it cost to stay in this beautiful masterpiece? Only about $500 a night…
